|Olga Chatzinikolaou's experience helped Greece find their rhythm and control the game|
Greece made no mistake in safely making their way past Israel 66-57 to reach the Final of the EuroBasket Women 2015 1st Qualification Round where they will meet Poland.
Having already gained a significant upper hand by chalking up a 69-57 victory on the first leg, the Greeks never looked like seriously relinquishing their grip on the tie.
They won all four quarters in an impressively controlled performance, which took off after an initial stutter when they trailed 10-3 after the opening exchanges.
But, with the experience of Olga Chatzinikolaou on board, they had someone with veteran smarts to both help them get rolling and also stay assured for the remainder of the game.
The 31-year-old small forward delivered an efficient 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead the way, although her contribution was underpinned by an array of cameos, including one from Angeliki Nikolopoulou.
Just like Chatzinikolaou, she also dropped two-of-two from long-range in a real display of perimeter power from Greece, who drained 8-of-15 from downtown.
Israel were in front 26-25 during the second quarter, but it was to be the last they would see of a leading position for the rest of the contest.
Consequently they had no chance of making inroads into the first-leg arrears with Greece able to hold them at arm's length with relative ease.
Katia Levitsky had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the home side.
The first leg of the Final to determine who takes the one precious ticket on offer for EuroBasket Women 2015, will take place in Greece this forthcoming Saturday 22 June, with the second leg to be played on Tuesday 25 June in Poland.
