|David Brembly's 11 points and 6 rebounds came in handy for Germany as they outpaced Croatia in the second half|
Germany trailed Croatia by as many as 17 points but out-scored them 49-24 in the second half to clinch a 76-65 triumph and finish in 11th place at the Sportland U20 European Championship.
Croatia started off on an explosive pace on Sunday and led 24-11 at the end of the first quarter, briefly extending the gap to 17 points before settling for a 41-27 lead at the half-time interval.
When Germany returned to the court however, they had found the hot hand; they drilled 10 of their 25 three-point attempts, balanced the encounter and then stepped it up a notch in the clutch.
They kept Croatia without a score in the final 4:30 of the game to go on a 9-0 run and seal a victory that seemed almost impossible.
Mauricio Marin paved the way for Germany with 15 points and five points, Stephan Haukohl chipped in with 12 points and Bogdan Radosavljevic with David Brembly finished with 11 apiece.
Croatia's Domagoj Samac led all scorers with 20 points in a losing effort.
