Croatia defeated Greece, 63-49, in the final of the Pannergy U18 European Championship Women, Division B, to win the title
Both finalists will play next year in Division A, as they earned promotion with their win in the semi-finals.
Ivana Tikvic of Croatia was again unstoppable and dominated the game inside with 21 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.
She was supported by Glorija Sikiric with 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Anja Majstorovic got eight points and six rebounds in 17 minutes of playing.
Artemis Spanou led the Greeks in scoring, with 16 points, to go with her five rebounds, but committed also five turnovers.
Anastasia Slouka added a double-double, 14 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
Croatia led 33-18 at halftime and Ivana Todoric sank a three-pointer to extend the margin to 18 points, 36-18.
But the Greek players were not going to let the game slip from their hands.
They build a 19-2 run, to cut the gap at only one point, 38-37, with 1:55 to go in the third period.
That was all that they could bring to the table though.
The Croatians responded with an 8-0 run of their own to enter the last ten minutes of the game with a nine-point advantage, 46-37.
On their way to the final victory, Croatia ended the game with another forcing, 11-5, in the last five minutes of the game.
Croatia finished the tournament undefeated, and only once won a game by a single-digit margin, against Belarus, in the last duel of the Qualifying Round.
The Greeks lost two games in the Qualifying Round, with Israel and Finland, but recovered just in time for the important encounters and advanced in the final after eliminating Belarus and Finland.
