Maryia Filonchyk carried Belarus when it mattered most to clinch Division A for next year
Belarus secured their Division A survival while condemning Germany to relegation with an 83-65 win at the U20 European Championship Women.

Belarus used a big second half to put away the Germans, outscoring their opponents 48-31 after the break.

Maryia Filonchyk led Belarus with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Maryia Papova added 18 points.

Sonja Greinacher's 13 points and 15 rebounds were in vain for Germany.

Slovakia, already assured of Division A basketball next summer, improved to 5-0 in the classification round with a 65-50 victory over winless Romania.

Dominika Baburova and Angelika Slamova had 12 points each while Sabina Oroszova collected 10 points and six rebounds.

Cristina Bigica led Romania with 19 points while Gabriela Cursaru added 14.
