Great Britain Slip Past Hosts, Stay Perfect


Great Britain remained undefeated Sunday at the U20 European Championship Women Division B, but only by the skin of their teeth after holding of hosts F.Y.R. of Macedonia 70-69.

Tamzin Barroihet took care of business from the line, hitting her final four free throws to seal the deal.

Mairi Buchan led the way for Great Britain with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

The Brits are now 3-0 and will play the Czech Republic in a battle of unbeatens on Tuesday.

Portugal also stayed perfect with a convincing 83-32 victory over Greece, outscoring their opponents 42-16 in the second half.

Maria Correia scored 19 points in the win.

In the days other action Israel moved to 2-1 with a 61-58 win over Austria and Hungary earned their first win of the competition with a 77-65 victory over Belgium.
