Four more spots were decided on the final day of the OMNITEL U18 European Championship as Croatia won the fifth spot with a 92-77 win over Poland and France took the seventh place with a 77-74 victory over Greece at Siemens Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania on Sunday afternoon.
The last two teams to qualify to the FIBA U19 World Championship next year in Riga, Latvia - Croatia and Poland faced each other to fight for the fifth place and after 40 minutes were divided 92-77 in favor of the Croats.
Toni Katic scored 20 points and added seven rebounds, six assists and five steals to have a great finish in the competition and was followed by Dario Saric with 13 and nine rebounds, Roko Rogic with 12 and two players with 11 - Boris Barac and Marko Ramljak.
Poland had five players in double-digits as well in Tomasz Gielo who scored 14, Grzegorz Grochowski, who added 13 with five steals while three players reached 10 - Przemyslaw Karnowski, Mateusz Ponitka and Michal Sokolowski.
Croatia opened the 2nd quarter with a 10-1 run to finish the first half with a 59-40 lead
and decide the battle in an early stage.
The Polish moved closer and were behind by just nine points in the third quarter, but that's as close as they could get.
