An inspiring performance from point guard Avigiel Cohen was not sufficient to fire hosts Israel to victory on day two of the U18 European Championship Women Division B.
Cohen poured in a game-high 35 points and pulled down 11 rebounds
but her team lost 71-62 to the Netherlands.
In the other Group C game, Germany continued to command the standings after a 68-61 triumph over Denmark.
Trailing by 16 in the opening half, Denmark pulled closer after the re-start but the Germans held on to claim their second win in as many days.
Sonja Greinacher led Germany in scoring with 16 points and eight rebounds.
In Group B, Portugal celebrated their first success in Eliat with a 64-43 triumph over Finland.
The Portuguese got off to a flying start, taking a commanding 20-4 lead and never looked back.
Portugal guard Maria Correia came up strong with 19 points.
Slovenia advanced to the Qualifying Round after an easy 76-47 win over Switzerland.
Power forward Tjasa Gortnar had 14 points and corralled in 10 rebounds.
Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina remained unbeaten in Group D to clinch a spot in the Qualifying Round.
Bosnia and Herzegovina trailed for 35 minutes before edging Croatia 64-61. Bosnia's Matea Tavic had 12 of her 24 points in the final quarter.
Greece led from start to finish against Norway and won 59-39. Christina Tsoukala was Greece's leading scorer with 19 Pts.
A 13-0 run at the start of the third quarter propelled Romania to a 71-58 victory over England in Group A.
Gabriela Cursaru led her team in scoring with 19 points while she dished out eight assists as the Romanians claimed their first win in Israel.
