10.07.2009

Israel, Hungary, Slovenia and Germany stormed into the last four at the U18 European Championship for Women Division B.

Polona Zalar poured in a game-high 21 points to fire Slovenia to an 81-60 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Quarter-Final tie.

Zalar connected on five of her seven attempts from behind the arc.

Slovenia finished an impressive 14 of 30 (46.7%) from long range while their opponents converted four of their 16 attempts.

"We played great today," said Slovenia coach Damir Grgic.

"We prepared well for this game and the team was relaxed."

Grgic's side faces a big test on Saturday when it takes on tournament hosts Israel.

"The next game againts Israel is going to be very tough," said Grgic.

"They are the clear favorites.

"They have played very good basketball during the tournament.

"I hope we can surprise them but are truly underdogs going into this game."

Shira Barak led all scorers with 19 points to help Israel beat Finland 75-66.
