Spain Beat France And Go For Gold

Spain broke open a close game in the third quarter and defeated France 64-54 to capture gold at the U18 European Championship Women in Södertälje.

Trailing 36-33 after 23 minutes played, the Spaniards scored 14 unanswered points to go into the final stanza with a 47-36 advantage.

Local Hero Cleo Forsman-Goga Gets MVP-Award

Sweden shooting guard Cleopatra Forsman-Goga was named Most Valuable Player of the U18 European Championship Women.

Forsman-Goga led her team all the way to the bronze medal in Södertälje.

Bronze Medal For Happy Hosts

Sweden captured a bronze medal at the U18 European Championship Women on Sunday after pulling away late in the third quarter against the Czech Republic in Södertälje.

The tournament hosts, whose title dreams were ended by Spain in Saturday's semi-finals, prevailed 67-54.
