Day Three: Bulgaria Climb To 3-0

Day three in the U16 European Championship Division B saw only four teams remain unbeaten.

Only a single game took place in Group A when Denmark climbed to a 2-0 record after a 76-61 triumph over Georgia.

That was the first loss for Georgia who found themselves down 37-28 already at the half.

Esben Reinholt excelled for the winning side with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Beka Burjanadze of Georgia wrote his second double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Bulgaria climbed to a 3-0 record in Group B after another double-digit win, 68-54 over Belgium this time.

The teams entered the last quarter with the gap over 20, as the game was one-sided for three quarters.

Tencho Tenchev continued to shine, this time with 23 points and seven boards.

Romania showed the hosting team of Portugal the unpleasant side of a loss with a 67-58 score.

Horia Cristiean scored 18 with four steals for the winners, while Gabor Baczo added 16.

Filipe Teixeira had a double-double for the winners with 13 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks.

Group C saw big very big defeats that kept Slovenia and Sweden in the spearhead.

The 80-41 win of Sweden pushed them to a 2-1 record in a game that was decided in a very early stage.

Marcus Eriksson scored 23 while William Magarity added 20.

Slovenia didn't stay far behind and wrote a 91-51 treading over Luxembourg.

Five players scored in double-digits for the winners led by Jan Osolnik with 16 points.

England remain perfect in Group D after a 96-62 victory in their second game, this time over the Slovak Republic.

Devon Van Oostrum came close to another triple double, this time with 20 points, 12 steals, seven rebounds and four assists.

Hungary earned their win in this group after an 87-77 win over Netherlands who dropped to 0-2.

The Dutch had a three point lead with a little over five minutes to play, but an 9-1 Hungarian run made the difference.

P?ter Jakab led the winners with 22 points and four steals, while Paul Candiff scored 17 for the losing side.
