Croatia finished the Termosteps U16 European Championship Men with an 83-77 win over Russia.

The Croats finish seventh as a result of the win, while Russia, who were minutes from the semi-finals, dropped to the 8th spot in the final standings.

Stefan Zadravec finished with the second best scoring performance of the competition by making 30 points, one point shy from the first place, in ten out of 16 field goal attempts.

Boris Barac added 11 while Marko Ramljak and Roko Rogic scored ten a piece.

Russia enjoyed 27 points by Dmitry Kulagin who finished the first half with no more than a three pointer.

Victor Pavlenko and Denis Sidletskiy followed with ten each.

Croatia took over in the second quarter behind a big run, and big scoring performance by Zadravec.

Russia used Kulagin's hot hand to move closer all the way to a tied game in the closing minutes, but Croatia functioned better from the line to secure the 7th place.

Despite a better ratio on the rebounds, 35-26, and ten made shots from long range on 45.4% Russia couldn't find the path to the win in front of a good shooting day on the other side of court by Croatia.

Barac combined six points as Croatia took a 23-17 lead after ten minutes.

Zadravec was on fire to reach 18 after less than 15 minutes as the margin extended to 16, 38-22 behind a Croatian run.

The Croatian guard finished the first half with 20 points, but Russia woke up in time and until the break set the difference on no more than 41-30.

After a quiet first half Kulagin found his spot, scored nine in a short time but Croatia still had Ramljak to lead another run and set the difference on 15, 62-47, with 11 minutes to play.

Sidletskiy and Kulagin weren't ready to give up as Russia scored 14 against only three on the other side to enter the last five minutes close behind, 65-61.

The Russian sharp-shooter continued to pound and with two minutes on the clock tied the game at 72-72 before Zadravec hit five big points in a row in 15 seconds.

Once again Kulagin was there and with a three pointer made it a one point game, but
