The Netherlands and Germany remained on course for a semi-finals place after Tuesday's games in Division B of the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women.
Romania surprised the Netherlands in the opening period as they went on an 11-0 run to take the lead, but Yvonne Lansink's concept of team basketball was in evidence as Holland picked up and dominated the rest of the match to win comfortably 79-59.
Milou Dekker led the scoring with 17 points.
The Dutch team's Riane Hofstraat said after the game: "It is unbelievable, we are having a great tournament and are learning all the time and our supporters are fantastic."
Germany were made to work hard for every single point against Ireland, as the physical "never say die" approach of Ireland raffled them at times, but they were always in control offensively and they prevailed 52-31.
In the group's other match, Israel beat England 60-50 in a very physical game.
England managed to restrict Bar Galinski's influence in the game, but their poor percentage from the foul line and high turnover count allowed Israel to hold on to the match and going on to win.
Israel's Shira Schecht, said :"We watched the video of England and knew they were physical, so we were prepared."
