Germany held off Italy 67-62 in the teams' last qualifying round game of the U20 European Championship for Women.
Margret Skuballa had a game-high 23 points and pulled down 13 boards for the Germans while team-mate Romy Bar scored 20.
Skuballa scored nine points in the first quarter as Germany took a 17-15 lead.
Italy were limited to just three points over the next five minutes as Germany went on a 13-3 run to gain control, 30-18.
Italy showed some signs of recovery but Skuballa and Bar made sure their team went into the break with a 39-25 advantage.
Germany failed to press home their advantage and Silvia Sarni's three-point play saw Italy reduce the deficit 61-54 with less than two minutes but Germany held on for the win.
Italy were outrebounded 48-28. Germany were superior shooting the ball, hitting four of 11 (36.3%) from beyond the arc and 21 of 41 (51.2%) inside it.
By contrast, the Italians were 13 of 40 (32.5%) inside the arc and six of 21 (28.5%) from long range.
Giorgia Sottana led the Azzurre in scoring with 14 points.
Bulgaria 65, Latvia 58

Ekaterina Dimitrova led Bulgaria to a 65-58 triumph over Latvia in the last qualifying round game of the U20 European Championship for Women.
Dimitrova poured in a game-high 21 points but had great support from Jaklin Zlatanova who added 17 and Veselka Todorova (14).
Todorova's three-ball gave the tournament hosts a 36-31 half-time lead.
With the game tied at 31-31 late in the second quarter, Bulgaria went on a 14-4 run to take command.
Latvia hit back and Karline Nimane's jumper reduced the deficit 48-47 going into the last quarter but Bulgaria kept their noses in front to seal the win.
Bulgaria were superior shooting the ball from close range, as they were 24 of 46 (52.1%) from inside the arc while their opponents were a mere 17 of 56 (30.3%).
