Latvia's young star Ernests Kalve will play for Giessen 46ers next season after being loaned to the German club from Italian powerhouses Benetton Treviso.
Kalve is currently starring at the U20 European Championships, averaging 20.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.2 steals in his first five games in Turkey.
The 19-year-old Riga native was also the top scorer at last summer's U18 European Championships with 22.5 points per game.
"We are very proud that Ernests Kalve is coming to us, and that his agent and Benetton management decided to let him develop his game here at Giessen," coach Stefan Koch said.
"We're really happy that we were able to bring in one of Europe's biggest talents," added Giessen managing director Christian Maruschka.
Kalve averaged two points in 11 Italian Serie A games last season with Benetton and 1.6 points in five Euroleague contests.
