Georgia Better Austria

26.08.2007

Georgia saw off a determined Austrian side on Saturday night in Tbilisi to keep pace with red hot Finland in Group C.

The Georgians were led by Zaza Pachulia who totaled 25 points and five rebounds in the victory.

Team-mate Manuchar Markoishvili also chipped in with 22 points as Georgia shot an impressive 57 percent from inside the arc.

The Austrians got off to a solid start and led by one after a quarter of play but Georgia then asserted themselves and, while never able to really pull away, had the better of it the rest of the way.

Austria was led by Benjamin Ortner who had 18 points and seven boards in the loss.
