Czechs Out As Spain Reign In Budapest

Spain overcame the Czech Republic 65-53 in a hard-fought semi-final to seal a place in the U18 European Championship Women Final.

Patricia Arguello and Anna Carbo Coloma were the stars for the Spain side as they poured in 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Spain took an early grip on the game and they led after the first quarter 17-13 and at half-time 36-29.

However, the Czechs pushed them right till the end and were particularly impressive with their rebounding as Tereza Peckova and Kamila Stepanova each claimed 10 boards.

Romana Hejdova led the charge for the Czechs as she hit 14 points as she battled to bring her side victory, but it was all to no avail in the end.

Spain will now meet Serbia & Montenegro in the final of the competition on Sunday.
