France are champions of the A.C.I. Trading Limited U20 European Championship Women after overcoming a brave and very determined Poland in Brno on Sunday.
Florence Lepron, the excellent shooting guard, exploded for 21 points, surpassing her previous high of 18 in the tournament, to lead the French to a 72-57 triumph although Fatimatou Sacko, Julie Barennes and Yvette Assilamehou also provided invaluable contributions.
Latvia swept aside Greece 65-36 on Sunday to capture the bronze medal at the A.C.I. Trading Limited U20 European Championship Women in Brno.
Playing less than 24 hours after their heartbreaking 55-53 semi-final defeat to Poland, the Baltic country were able to take some of the sting out of that setback by finishing the tournament in third place, and it was an 11-2 Latvia run late in the first quarter that served as the launchpad for victory.

The Greeks were a determined bunch but eventually caved in against the powerful French, who got a game-high 22 points from their 19-year-old forward Julie Barennes.
