Italy coach Fabrizio Frates conceded Greece had been a class above his players after they crashed out of the A.C.I. Trading Limited U20 European Championship in Chekhov.
The Azzurrini led 43-33 three minutes into the third quarter but were unable to hold off their opponents who claimed a 79-71 triumph.

"(But) I think the real problem is that our players lack experience at the highest level.
"At the crucial point of the game they seem to disappear and it will continue like this if they don't have the possibility of playing in the Lega A."
Frates' men had trouble holding onto leads, as they also blew a 21-point advantage and lost to Russia in their first quarter-final clash.

The shooting guard finished with a game-high 26 points but made just two of 11 shots from behind the arc against the Greeks.
"Belinelli has given us so much," Frates said.
"He has marked our top opponents and at times double marked them, he is really the leader.
"But his shooting decisions were probably not the best and certainly have not shown the real qualities that we know that Marco has."
