Slovakia women's coach Jozef Resetar was happy with his team's efforts despite only managing a third-placed finish in the "Velka cena Slovenska" tournament.
Defeats to eventual winners Lithuania and Turkey prevented the Slovakians from taking the honours in the tournament, but Resetar was nevertheless pleased as it allowed him to experiment with his line-up before the qualification begins for this year's EuroBasket Women in Turkey.
He told www.basket.sk: "I think that this quality tournament fulfilled its objective.
"We played very strong teams with different styles of play, which was good for us - Lithuania played nice basketball, Turkey's movement was excellent and Finland played very hard.
"It is good that we had experience of these different styles before the qualifiers. We defended quite well, but made some mistakes.
"Our attacking was also better than in our previous friendlies, but we did not take advantage of our chances. We can also work on our rebounding, but I believe we will improve after every training session."
The squad will meet again on Friday in Kosice, with Resetar opting for an unchanged line-up.
Resetar added: "We have decided to keep the 13 players who played in Velka cena Slovenska together.
"Katarina Polakova and Daniela Cikosova are out because of injuries, and we have a big problem with Zuzana Zirkova who twisted her ankle, although she could be back for the qualifiers."
