Out of the new faces, Nikola Kalinic has impressed the most during preparations, being likely to make the final 12 for Slovenia. Coming off a bronze medal campaign with Serbia at the recent Universiade in Kazan, the 21-year-old is willing to fulfil his dream and also suit up at EuroBasket in Slovenia. Kalinic hails from a sports family, with his father Zoran a former renowned table tennis player. The junior admits to having tried table tennis himself, amongst other sports, but found his true love on the basketball court, growing up at his home club Spartak Subotica. The forward was one of the most prolific players on Vojvodina Novi Sad, averaging 10 points and four rebounds in the Serbian Super League. Being able to cover both forward positions, Kalinic will get the chance to develop his game on international level next season after signing a deal with Eurocup side Radnicki Kragujevac.
