Dainius Salenga

Career: Sakalai Vilnius (Lithuania-LKL. 1998-2000). Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania-LKL. 2000-05).

If the competition was not so tough at the guard and forward spots in the national team (Macijauskas, Stombergas, Siskauskas), Salenga would already be a star. Athletic, a spectacular leaper (he won the 2002 LKL All-Star Game Dunk Contest), Salenga is a scorer, from any distance. Last season, he averaged 12.0ppg (48.9%), 2.8rpg, 3.2apg and 1.4spg in the Euroleague, and recorded some sensational outings: 38 points in two games against Barcelona, 22 against Fortitudo and so on. Recruited by Zalgiris Kaunas in December 2000, he was elected in the All-LKL 1st team in 2001-02, and several times for the All-Star Game. As a reward of his bright performances over the years, he was chosen by the up-and-coming Spanish club Girona for the 2005-2006 season.
