Latvia coach Ainars Bagatskis has handed senior call-ups to Mareks Mejeris and Martins Meiers after watching them impress at the U20 European Championship Men.

The pair are still travelling after helping Latvia to eighth place in Bilbao but will join up with Bagatskis' squad in Poland later in the week.
Meiers averaged 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 24 minutes per game for the U20s while Mejeris had 10.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in 26 minutes per game.
Their U20 coach, Greg Galvanoska, believes they can contribute to the seniors as they prepare for the EuroBasket in Lithuania.
"Martins will certainly be able to compete for the number five position with the national team," he said. "He has also shown an ability to play at number four."
"With Mareks, he has the talent, but maybe he has lacked the athleticism. I think playing with the senior team, with older players, this can give him the step up he needs."
Latvia have been drawn in Group B for the EuroBasket, and will face Italy, Israel, France, Germany and Serbia.
