Alina Iagupova - EuroBasket Women 2015 Profile

The main star of the Ukrainian national team, Iagupova is one of the most athletic players in the women's game and certainly in Europe. With the strength, speed, agility and stamina she possesses, this versatile player could shine in any top-team around the globe. But she has declined all the offers coming from many top giant of women's basketball and has preferred to stay at home with Elisavet Basket. The Ukrainian club has provided unlimited freedom for her on and off the court and it was only last year when for the first time, she decided to play abroad. Her egocentric style of play could be a problem for any play-caller who's fond of controlling the players on the court, but Coach Czeczuro has discovered the compromises required to get the best from his star player. That has satisfied all the scoring needs of the national team and indeed, the former FIBA Europe Young Women's Player of the Year led the team in an astonishing four statistical categories during qualification last summer to underline her brilliance.
