The story about Nemanja Bjelica is truly extraordinary. At the age of 20 he finished his contract in Austria and started considering all options, even to quit basketball and try something else. But, one call made the decision for him. Svetislav Pesic was the head coach of Crvena Zvezda at the time and he invited Bjelica to try out and the rest as they say is history. He stayed two years in Belgrade, then played three seasons for Baskonia and then two more in Fenerbahce. This summer he decided to leave Europe and join the Minnesota Timberwolves. Meanwhile, Bjelica has become a regular member of the national team since EuroBasket 2009, despite still only being in his mid-twenties.
