Steven Burtt is expected to play as a naturalised player for Ukraine at EuroBasket 2011 and in doing so, will offer a huge upside for Coach Fratello, not least his scoring ability and playmaking skills. He has really torn it up in both the VTB League and in Ukraine by regularly posting big numbers and that firepower could be gold dust if he ends up flying to Lithuania. While time will tell whether it's a situation that pans out for both parties and Burtt does get to pull on a Ukrainian vest, his talent is beyond question. Not only does he know how to score, his 4.5 assists per game in the VTB league showcase his ability to create effectively for others. With Burtt in the line-up it's hard not see how Ukraine would be a more effective, dangerous and dynamic team. |
