A EuroLeague Women champion at the age of twenty and with two other trophies to her name in a treble winning year at Halcon Avenida, Marta Xargay is hoping an already fantastic 2011 gets even better by making the roster for EuroBasket Women 2011. The guard is recognised as one of the best young talents in Europe and was in the running for the FIBA Europe Young Player Of The Year. She is yet another Spanish player to have found success at youth level with various medals and a place in the U20 European Championship Women All Tournament Team last summer. A guard who can handle the ball but is more comfortable making shots, Xargay is sound defensively and a solid all-round player who still has lots of time to evolve into an even better backcourt player. |
