|Erlana Larkins, seen here playing in EuroCup Women for Mersin|
Italian champions Beretta Famila Schio have strengthened their frontline after acquiring the services of power forward Erlana Larkins.
The 27-year-old played in EuroCup Women last season with Mersin Buyuksehir where she averaged an impressive double-double of 12.8 points and 16 rebounds per game.
Most recently, Larkins was been playing in the Chinese League for Jiangsu, where she averaged 11.3 points and 11.6 boards each time she took to the floor.
She will now make the step up and debut in EuroLeague Women, providing greater depth for Schio as they prepare to make an assault on all fronts with a string of domestic titles to play for and also the aim of taking a third successive place at the Final Eight.
Larkins will link up with the likes of Elodie Godin and Kathrin Ress in the paint for her new team, with Schio having previously signed Amber Harris during pre-season, only for the player to return to the States without playing any official games.
A Tar Heels graduate, Larkins has spent the last couple of summers playing for Indiana Fever in the WNBA and was crowned a play-off champion in 2012.
The Florida native will make a return to Turkey to play her first EuroLeague Women minutes, with Schio scheduled to travel to Kayseri Kaski spor this week in a crunch Group A encounter.
