Anton Ponkrashov - EuroBasket 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: CSKA Moscow (Russia-PBL)
Career: Pulkovo St. Petersburg (Russia-4th division, 2001-02); Conti St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague B, 2002-04); Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 2004-06); CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2006-07); Khimki Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2007-09); CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2009-10); Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia-PBL, 2010-11); CSKA Moscow (Russia-PBL, 2011-13)

As is often the case with Ponkrashov, he did not get a lot of playing time with CSKA Moscow last season, but when it comes to the national team, Anton is always there and ready to play a major role in the team's system. The point guard was an important piece of last year's Russian squad which won bronze at the Olympics as he gained Blatt's trust during the tournament. Ponkrashov is still a very athletic point guard who can score as well as facilitate. Anton is known for his love to work out and even has the nickname "Workout World Champion" amongst his teammates. EuroBasket in Slovenia is a great chance for Ponkrashov to show his skills before moving on and changing clubs.
