Alba Torrens
Career: Segle XXI (Spain-LF2, 2004-06), Celta Indepo (Spain-LF, 2006-09), Halcon Avenida (Spain-LF, 2009-2011)

Last season surely has to be seen as a definitive breakthrough one for Torrens who absolutely exploded in EuroLeague Women and replaced her rising star status with one of bona-fide senior star after being crowned MVP of the Final Four. She has not only continued to develop her own unique style of play, but she put together all facets of her game, including her outside shot which was far more consistent than during previous seasons. This year her fundamental strengths seem to have been raised a level too. There are few more exciting players to watch in the game than Torrens when she is in full flow and the fun which fans experience when doing so is only surpassed by the fun you sense Torrens is having herself. She is 1.91m, which is a big problem for opposing players, especially since she is comfortable with the ball in her hands and running the floor too. Energetic and influential, she is likely to take over the mantle of Valdemoro in years to come as the heartbeat of this Spanish team. She remains a near certainty to make a big impact in Poland and continue her stellar work in EuroLeague Women and Liga Femenina. She has talent in abundance and her meteoric rise to the top just keeps on gathering momentum.
