A center in the old school mould who is most comfortable with his back to the basket and spinning his defender and rolling to the hoop, Oguz Savas is one of the most interesting frontcourt players in Europe. Rather than the more populous taller and thinner centers which seem to be rife and often favoured by coaches because of their mobility and flexibility, what you see with Savas is exactly what you get. He is a highly efficient inside scorer who operates down in the low post, using his size, strength and agility to great effect. Allow him to catch the ball in the paint and you are in big trouble since he is adept at spin moves either way and will relentlessly attack a defenders weakest side. He is a smart player who is still only 24-years-old and now developing his game by working on extending his range. He can get beaten laterally on defence by quicker players and could probably rebound even better but all in all, he remains a real asset.
