While Aliaksandra Tarasava only scored in two of the nine games at the FIBA World Championship Women, it was what she did at the other end of the court that really caught the eye of fans and opponents alike. Tarasava entered the game in a crucial spell against Russia and put the clamps on Becky Hammon to great effect, which helped her team claim a huge win. While court time has been limited so far, she has already had some good moments in a National Team vest. Due to her good form in EuroCup Women for Ruzomberok, where she finished the campaign with over 10 points and 2.5 assists per game, she is a candidate to increase her influence on the team if given the opportunity. She can certainly bring a tenacious approach to defence if Belarus need an opposing guard locked down.
