Alex KING - EuroBasket 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: s.Oliver Baskets Wurzburg (Germany-BBL)
Career: Frankfurt Skyliners (Germany-BBL, 2002-08); Telekom Baskets Bonn (Germany-BBL, 2008-11); s.Oliver Baskets Wurzburg (Germany-BBL, 2011-13)

When news broke out that ALBA Berlin had bought Alex King out of his contract with Würzburg, people were surprised to say the least. King is not exactly a late bloomer, having played his basketball in the BBL since 2004 with a few minutes as a youngster already coming in 2002. He spent six seasons with Frankfurt before moving to Bonn for three years and spending the last two years in Würzburg. The forward had always been a rotation player, but hardly more than that. Last season however, he stepped up when the club had injury woes and delivered a solid seven points and 4.2 rebounds in 23 minutes-per-night, earning him the contract in Berlin. Another combo forward, King would normally be stuck behind younger and more talented players but with Elias Harris out and Philipp Schwethelm injured, King could once more be the one to step out of the shadow.
