|Ivana Matovic is one of the significant names to resign with Fenerbahce this week|
They may have a crunch EuroLeague Women play-off series against Uni Gyor to focus on during coming days, but this hasn't stopped Fenerbahce from scanning the horizon and making some early preparations for next season.
Ensuring a considerable amount of continuity for the 2013-2014 campaign, the Istanbul giants have swooped to secure the services of key personnel including Cappie Pondexter and the twin towers of Anastasiya Verameyenka and Ivana Matovic.
The trio have all enjoyed productive seasons so far and impressed sufficiently to have their deals extended, meaning they will join Angel McCoughtry, Birsel Vardarli and Nevin Nevlin who already have respective contracts in place for next season.
Pondexter has been influential and averaged 11.4 points and 3.9 assists per game, although it is Matovic and Verameyenka in particular who have been in sparkling form for several months.
Matovic, who is in her third season with the club, has played more minutes than anyone on the roster and is averaging a team-high 14.6 points a night to compliment her 5.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists a game.
Belarus national team star Verameyenka arrived in Turkey last summer, hitting the ground running and has not looked back after hitting the ground running. Her unflappable temperament and ice-cool, clinical approach on the floor has led to her claiming 10.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
She is not only the most deadly EuroLeague Women finisher with a shooting percentage of 64.6%, but there is also nobody better in competition at blocking shots and who can surpass her average of 2.2 per game.
