|Mensah-Bonsu will miss the business end of the French league season, but should be back for Great Britain's preparations for the EuroBasket|
Great Britain's Pops Mensah-Bonsu returned to Europe from the NBA this season looking for playing time to get ready for the EuroBasket.
The ASVEL Villeurbanne-Lyon power forward/center averaged nearly 17 points and 10 rebounds in his 12 regular season games, but he won't be able to run onto the court anymore in the play-offs after hurting his shoulder in his team's LNB Play-Off Quarter-Final Game 2 triumph over Elan Chalon/Saône at the weekend.
ASVEL have announced that Mensah-Bonsu won't be able to play for six weeks.
Last summer, the 27-year-old Londoner was awesome in the British shirt, averaging 19.3 points and a Division A best 13.5 rebounds as they qualified for the EuroBasket for the second time in a row.
Great Britain will play in Group A at the EuroBasket against the tournament hosts Lithuania, Spain, Turkey, Poland and one of the two sides that comes through the Additional Qualifying Round.
