Emmeline Ndongue

Career: Bourges (France-LFB, 1999-2004), Aix (France-LFB, 2004-2006), Bourges (France-LFB, 2006-07)

Ndongue did not play well at the 2006 World Championship, failing to have the impact she was starting to have with the National Team in 2005.  What makes it harder to explain is that she had a great club season in which she  took Aix to the final of the EuroCup Women against Dynamo Moscow. She played so well against Lisa Leslie of Dynamo that the American center asked her to come and play for Los Angeles Sparks over the summer. This year with Bourges, Ndongue took her game to another level. She was the starting center for one of the four best teams in the EuroLeague Women and had a great season. Excellent on defence with her very long arms, the 24-year-old is an effective shot blocker. She still needs to gain quickness and toughness to be more efficient on offense, but she is getting there.
