The onus fell on Markoishvili to lead Georgia at EuroBasket 2013 following injuries to Zaza Pachulia and Tornike Shengelia. But two years, and another title, down the line, the versatile forward should revert to his more natural game this time around. The 28-year-old averaged 13.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2 assists during his four games in Slovenia, including 18 points in Georgia's solitary victory, against Poland. Markoishvili did not suit up for his country during last summer's EuroBasket 2015 2nd Qualication Round, but went on to add the VTB United League championship to his collection last season. In 24 league games, he averaged 7.4 points in 18.2 minutes per game to help CSKA Moscow claim the big prize, while adding 3.6 points in 10.4 minutes in 18 EuroLeague outings. It is the fifth different league title Markoishvili has won, having enjoyed similar success in Georgia, Slovenia, Italy and Turkey.
