It was a case of back to the future last season for Sergey Bykov who exchanged his status of being the marquee player at Dynamo Moscow during recent years in favour of being more of a role player at city rivals CSKA. Having played a huge amount of minutes for Dynamo two years ago and averaging an astonishing 18 points per game both in the Russian League and in Eurocup, his numbers were not surprisingly very different after making the switch. That does not necessarily mean Bykov has taken a step backwards since he retains all of the talent and attributes which make him such a good player. A combo guard who not only has the capacity to score and create for others but is also rock solid defensively, he has rarely let the National Team down. During the last couple of major tournaments he has emerged with more than three assists per game while he also rebounds very well too.
