Serhiy Lishchuk

Career: Pulsar Rovno (Ukraine-Superleague, 1998-2003), Khimik Yuzhniy (Ukraine-Superleague, 2003-05).

The future star of Ukraine basketball. Serhiy Lishchuk started his career in his hometown of Rovno, playing there for five years. In his final campaign he showed he had nothing left to prove with Pulsar, keeping his team in the top 5 of the Superleague with his impressive performances (18.3 pts, 8.3 rbds, 3.1 blks)... The following year Lishchuk put together a great 2003-04 FIBA Europe League campaign (16.3 pts) with Khimik and was the leading scorer and rebounder of Ukraine during the qualifying round… This, added to his great U20 showing in the summer of 2002 (18.0 pts, 10.7 rbds) was enough to convince the legendary Jerry West and the Memphis Grizzlies to draft him in the second round  (49th pick) in June 2004… He played this summer with the Grizzlies in the Summer Pro League in Long Beach averaging 3.3 ppg.
