Arslan is a fixture in the Turkish national team, playing for the senior side every summer since 2003. The 30-year-old remains one of Turkey's most reliable point guards, running the team's system and not committing turnovers along the way. Arslan also knows when to call his own number, especially since he is a very dangerous threat from long range, eight times knocking down at least three triples in games for Galatasaray this past season. The mix of a 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio and 39.6% three-point shooting record helped Arslan guide Galatasaray to the Turkish title this season. He also played a big role in Turkey taking silver at the 2010 FIBA World Championship, knocking down three three-pointers for 12 points against Serbia in the semi-finals. Arslan's winning attitude and experience will be a huge asset for Turkey this summer.
