Highly touted in his teens and early twenties, health setbacks have halted Armands Skele from reaching his true potential at senior level. Recurrent meningitis came back to haunt Skele last summer as he prepared to suit up for the national team, meaning his role was limited to supporting his teammates from the bleachers. Following this, the third time in his career that meningitis struck the playmaker, Skele completed a strong club season with Estonian side Kalev/Cramo, averaging double-digit numbers in a doomed VTB League campaign, hitting at over 50% from beyond the arc. However, his passing game fails to match his shooting game with his ability to set up goals paling in comparison to his ability to make the shots himself.
