Stefano Garris

Career: Paderborn (Germany-2.Bundesliga, 1996-98), Lichterfelde (Germany-2.Bundesliga, 1998-2000), Alba Berlin (Germany-Bundesliga, 2000-05 Frankfurt Skyliners (Germany-Bundesliga, 2005-07).

One of Germany’s most promising talents has turned out to be one of the big question marks for the upcoming summer. Stefano “Nino” Garris used to be Germany’s best all-around defender but since he left his former club team Alba Berlin in 2005 his career has been shattered by injuries. Now playing in Frankfurt for his second consecutive season, Garris never fulfilled management’s high expectations. When healthy, the gangling small forward can shut down an opponent’s best offensive threat and be productive on the offensive end at the same time. Equipped with a streaky outside shot, Garris can also beat defenders with his quick first step. After missing the World Championships his comeback to the National Team, Garris is one of the German team’s most interesting stories.
