Career: G.U.Veria (Greece-4th Division, 1993-1995), Filippos Verias (Greece-3rd Division, 1995-1997), Grindavik (Iceland-A League, 1997-1998), Near East (Greece-HEBA A1, 1998-1999), Peristeri (Greece-HEBA Α1, 1999-2002), Panathinaikos BC (Greece-HEBA A1, 2002-…)
He was a little bit unlucky as he was born and grew up in Veria, a town of Makedonia, near Thessaloniki where everybody loves handball. But Kostas was tall, too tall to play handball and nobody really cared about him. So after a few seasons in a local team he became one of the first Greek players to play as a Bosman outside Greece. His choice although was pretty strange. He went to Iceland playing for Grindavik (he became one of the best rebounders of the League). Suddenly Greek teams learned about him and after Near East, he went to Peristeri where they recognised his talent. Panathinaikos was the next stop for his career. Many people say that he has not reached his potential. He likes to play away from the basket shooting three point shots, but the Greek team doesn’t have many 7footers (or almost 7 footers), so he became a real center especially last season with the “Greens” with the absence of the injured Middleton.
