European and World Junior Champion, Raül López has quickly become a star at the professional level. But two ACL and several other injuries have put a damper on his astonishing career and forced him to come back from the NBA to play in Europe. Known as a solid and intelligent playmaker who excels in the passing game and decision-making while looking less for his own shot, López was the “x” factor for ULEB Cup winners Real Madrid. The 27-year-old has not played for the National Team since he suffered his second ACL injury during a friendly game in August 2002. That injury ended his World Championship dreams and later on injuries and NBA duties kept him away. Now, five years on, he is ready to join the team again and make up for lost time.
