|Ros Casares point guard Laia Palau is going to miss her team's decisive Wednesday game and... she is happy - it could have been much worse|
ZVVZ USK Prague and Ros Casares have been robbed of key players for their respective Game 3 Eighth-Finals deciders in the EuroLeague Women play-offs.
Prague's Eva Viteckova will miss several weeks with a fractured finger, an injury she suffered in her side's 75-73 Game 2 defeat to Cras Basket Taranto on Friday.
Viteckova, who joined the club from Frisco Sika Brno in the summer, has averaged more than 14 points per game in the EuroLeague this season.
In her team's 73-56 Game One triumph in Italy, Viteckova poured in 19 points but on Friday, she lasted just 11 minutes before being forced out of the game.
Prague made just 12 of 22 (54.5%) from the free-throw line against Taranto in Game 2.
Anna Vajda, an important signing from Fenerbahce, was just three of eight at the charity stripe.
Ros Casares, meanwhile, have announced that Palau will miss Wednesday's clash with MKB Euroleasing Sopron with a groin injury.
The 31-year-old Spain international has had an MRI.
"I am very happy because it has ruled out any type of serious injury," she said in a statement released by the club.
"I have already begun the recovery process and hope to be with my teammates, soon."
Palau played just three minutes of Game 1 and didn't appear in Game 2.
She is one of the team's better defenders and passers and, like Prague's Viteckova, also has a penchant for taking and making the big shot.
