Laurent Sciarra has given Dijon a lift ahead of this evening's EuroCup Round II Group L opener against Virtus Bologna after he was named Pro A's player of the month for December.

The 33-year-old guard leads the league in assists - he averages 7.5 per game - and has been instrumental in lifting Dijon to joint fourth in the standings.

He has also been in good form in the EuroCup and ahead of the Virtus encounter, he is averaging 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds.

He picked up 50% of the votes, beating off competition from BCM Gravelines center Uche Nsonwu-Amadi (32%) and Paris Basket Racing center Georgi Joseph (18%).

Sciarra led Dijon to three successive victories in December.

He is also well known internationally after playing a pivotal role for France in their silver medal win at the Sydney Olympics.
