Arnis Vecvagars

Career: Bonus Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1993-95), VEF Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1995-96), Broceni Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1996-99), Bobry Bytom (Poland-PLK, 1999-2000), Sankt Pölten (Austria-Bundesliga, 2000-01), Broceni Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2001), BK Skonto Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2001-02), BK Ventspils (Latvia-LBL, 2002-05).

On of the rare veterans of the Latvian national team, Vecvagars, a former USSR cadet, has always proved to be a solid role player despite posting limited playing time... The same can be said of his club career as this dangerous shooter who is also able to provide some interesting help on the boards only left Latvia for a season and a half to try his luck in Poland and Austria... Back home, Vecvagars has twice won three championships in a row : first with Broceni Riga in the late 90’s, then with BK Ventspils for the last three years... He enjoyed his most playing time ever with the national team last September but this good news did not carry over to club competition as Vecvagars’ season was cut short by an injury that forced him out of the ULEB Cup playoffs.
