Alena Hanusova scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Czech Republic to a 59-47 victory over Russia on Wednesday. The Czech center also corralled nine rebounds and blocked two shots as her team guaranteed themselves a place in the Quarter-Final stages of the U18 European Championship Women. |

Lithuania pulled away early in the third quarter to beat Russia 77-64 in the opening Group F clash for the two sides. Russia led 33-32 at half-time but after the break failed to contain Lithuania's Grete Sniokaite.
She had 16 of her game-high 24 points in the the third frame. |
