Latvia, Belgium And Russia Finish With Wins

Latvia finished the U18 European Championship Women on a high note, beating Ukraine 72-61 to take seventh place.

The Latvians jumped out to a 20-12 lead after the first quarter.

Ukraine Beat Italy In Overtime, Advance To Quarter-Finals

Olha Maznichenko's jaw-dropping afternoon of 36 points and 16 rebounds led Ukraine past Italy, 82-78 and into the quarter finals of the U18 European Championship.

The Ukrainians needed overtime to beat the Azzurrine and were bounced by Maznichenko, who was a one-woman wrecking crew.

Italy Win Thriller Against Russia

Italy sprung out a major surprise by edging Russia 47-46 in Group F.

The Azzurrine led 46-44 with 23 seconds remaining and had the ball when Oriana Milazzo turned it over and gave Russia a chance to pull level or take the lead with a three-pointer.

Les Bleues Top Azzurrine

France kept their unbeaten run at the U18 European Championship for Women alive with a 63-45 triumph over Italy.

The Italians dug themselves an early hole and trailed 19-5 after the first quarter. However, they shaved four points off the deficit by half-time and went to the locker rooms behind 32-22. France went on a 17-6 run to take command for good in the third quarter.
