Following their loss to Portugal over the weekend, Ireland rebounded to defeat the Portuguese 60-51 yesterday evening in Dublin.
Ireland trailed for most of the evening and were down 45-39 in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.
But Ireland responded, outscoring Portugal 13-2 to take a 52-47 lead midway though the fourth.
Two baskets from Gilda Correia gave Portugal some hope and broke the Irish momentum.
But Ireland hit back and free-throws from Kate Maher eventually secured a nine-point win for the home side.
Suzanne Maguire led Ireland with 14 points, while Maher tallied 13.
Portugal's Correia had a game-high 25.
Ireland begin their EuroBasket qualifying schedule on September 9th in Norway.
Portugal's will open by hosting Luxembourg, also on the 9th.
