|The EuroCup Women already saw a record crowd of more than 7,000 in Kayseri during the first final against Kursk|
A historic first Final Eight is preparing itself for the breaking of the EuroLeague Women attendance record after pre-sales of tickets smashed through the 8,000 barrier.
With last minute sales also due to be factored in, it is expected the number of spectators inside Abdi Pekci in Istanbul could rise to an even higher level.
The previous record was set in Valencia two years ago when 7,800 supporters packed into the Pabellon Municipal Fuente de San Luis, the home of Ros Casares for the final two games of what was then EuroLeague Women Final Four.
It will be the third time a crowd of in excess of 7,000 has watched the EuroLeague Women Finals with 7,120 supporters opting to see Kosice play Spartak Moscow Region during December 2007.
If the record is broken as expected, it will complete a women's basketball record double in Turkey this season since a new attendance high was also been recorded in the EuroCup Women.
More than 7,000 fans attended the first-leg at Kayseri Kaskispor recently when they hosted eventual champions Dynamo Kursk.
